Eco.

We strive to be as in-step with the environment and our customer’s desires around sustainability as possible. Often the use of plastics is unavoidable however we ensure to use recyclable or recycled materials wherever possible to keep the environmental impact down to a minimum. FAQs

Do i require planning permission to construct a garden room?

Depending on your needs and selected design, certain builds can be delivered under “Permitted Development” whereby height, area and usage limits can allow for construction without formal planning permission. If your property falls in a “Conservation Zone” then you will not have Permitted Development Rights available however we have lots of experience in delivering designs and builds that meet with planning restrictions and suitable exterior finishes.

How environmentally friendly is constructing a Garden Room?

We make efforts to source materials locally and sensibly to minimise excessive delivery costs and lower the carbon footprint. Where requested we can provide a carbon calculation of the build and provide options to allow offsetting the carbon through a multitude of schemes.

How much does a Garden Room Cost?

The usual answer given is “How long is a piece of string?” as obviously your specification of build (size, features, finish) will greatly influence the price. As a guide, a basic Garden Room under permitted development would start at £9,000 however the average cost for most customers is around £15,000 - £20,000 for a high quality, customised addition to your home and life.

I have restricted access to my garden, can you still build a garden room?

We have experience building all across Bristol and the South West of England, that includes dealing with some of the more unique challenges of access in period properties and terraced housing. We can complete all projects without heavy machinery and make all efforts to protect your property from mess and disruption during works.

Will a Garden Room contribute to my property value?

Yes. If built correctly and sympathetically to the house it is accompanying, Garden Rooms can add 5% on average to the house value (often more than enough to cover the cost of installing) however we find our custom designed builds are built to a higher specification and quality than most so often see increases, independently valued by estate agents, in the range of 7%-9% on average.

Can a Garden Room have a Toilet and Shower?

We can design and build whatever facilities you might require for your new Garden Room. When introducing features such as bathrooms, habitual spaces and so on, the build must comply with Building Regulations to ensure that the work has been completed to the correct specification and quality. This is vitally important when selling your house to have all the correct paperwork as well as the peace of mind granted from an independent inspection. We have years of experience in working with Councils to deliver a smooth build without unnecessary delays from inspections and corrections.
